This poor horse named Rudy was left for dead tangled in barbed wire on the side of the road in Oklahoma. When animal control was called, they were told that the horse (dubbed "Rudy") was dead. However, despite being cold, wet and starving he was still alive. When animal control offers arrived they quickly noticed that the horse was missing both ears, both eye lids and later discerned that he had an extensive skull fracture along with multiple lacerations all over his body. It was determined that while tangled in the wire, he was attacked by dogs (and possibly other animals).

After freeing him from the barbed wire, Rudy was turned over to Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue who have headed up his recovery. Upon receiving him into their care, they immediately set-up a crowd-funding campaign to help save him. They were able to raise over $16,000 over doubling their $8000 goal. Natalee Cross, of that organization, said there's no excuse for this and described Rudy as “a horse with a will to survive, and wants to be here. He's not done yet. And he deserves that chance".
We are happy to report that Rudy is recovering well and is continuing to improve whilst in their care.
