Mr. G and Jellybean, a goat and a burro, had lived together for years but after being removed from a neglectful situation the two of them were separated and taken to different sanctuaries.
With the loss of his best friend, Mr. G had seemingly given up on life. He was inconsolable; refusing to eat and spending the days hiding away in the corner of his stall. There was nothing his rescuers could do to get him to eat or move. Once they ruled out existing health issues, it became obvious that Mr. G was heartbroken.
It was then decided that they needed to reunite Mr G. with his best friend Jellybean and, after a 14 hour round-trip, they did just that! See the video below.
This story is another reminder of how emotional animals are and their capacity to love and have relationships as complex and important to them as our own.
