Forget Citizen Cane. YouTube Cat Classics Take Centre Stage At Toronto’s International Film Festival

There’s a new kind of festival hitting the circuit: Internet Cat Video Festivals.

The latest city to celebrate the finest feline performances that the internet has to offer is Toronto. And it would seem that when it comes to YouTube cuteness, no one is immune, as the festival’s special guest is no other than Laureen Harper, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.

The Toronto International Film Festival’s ‘ Just For Cats: Internet Cat Video Festival’ on April 17 will give cat-lovers the opportunity to see their YouTube cat heroes projected larger than life on the silver screen.

This unique festival will provide cat-lovers with an opportunity to take their solitary YouTube cat video addiction out of the closet and into the public domain, as they join fellow cat-lovers in LOL-ing, crying, and aww-ing their way through their favourite videos.

Video Highlights include: Stalking Cat, Nyan Cat, Kittens Inspired By Kittens, Lil BUB, Grumpy Cat, Keyboard Cat and NONONONO Cat.

Prior to the screening, the Toronto Humane Society will host a red carpet cat adopt-a-thon. VIP tickets are available, which include reserved seating, a post-screening cocktail reception and a cat loot bag.

After Toronto, the Just for Cats Festival will visit Saskatoon, Montreal, Vancouver and Regina.
