On the sad occasion when people find animals frozen in ice during the winter, they are usually done for. When a driver from Elyria, Ohio found a kitten frozen in ice on the side of the road, they thought this was the case--that is, until it tried to move. Driver Dara Taylor quickly realized that this kitten may have been frozen, but it was still quite alive and rescued the poor grey cat.

Taylor told the local Chronicle-Telegram newspaper that when she got out of the car, the kitten was meowing so loud and his heart beating so fast in an effort to keep himself alive. She rushed the cat to Friendship Animal Protective League where the young male kitten was unable to open his eyes because of ice. It appeared as though the young kitten was doused in water before being left in the cold. It is likely this was a malicious and cruel attempt to get rid of the kitten by their previous owner.

Upon arriving at the organization, the young kitten was quickly warmed up and treated for a respiratory infection, now officials are hopeful he will make a full recovery. The kitten has already gotten numerous adoption requests and has been given the name of Frosty.
