When Bonnie was found by North Clwyd Animal Rescue, she was starving, matted beyond belief and scared for her life. Her owners were contacted and they indicated they no longer wanted her. Bonnie was thrown away like an old toy, as if she was an inanimate object who's sole purpose was to entertain her owners. Abandoned to live as a stray and fend for herself.
When she was rescued, her fur was so matted, that her mobility was being affected. Her matted fur was pulling at her hair so hard, it made it impossible for her to run or jump. It was so bad, it took two people to remove the matts without having to traumatically shave off all her fur.
This is where things take a turn for the positive. Removing the matts brought her back her mobility, her friendliness and her happiness. Within a week, Bonnie’s behavior changed from that of a scared, abandoned animal to the type of behavior you would expect from a dog who came from a loving background. Bonnie started to seek out attention from people again, and in the end she was adopted and found a happy home to call her own.
