People all over Twitter have asked Pamela Anderson to participate in the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ in support of the ALS Association.

So when Pam – an honorary PETA director –heard that the ALS Association allegedly funds painful experiments on monkeys and other animals, she responded with a special challenge of her own: She called on the ALS Association to switch to using sophisticated non-animal testing methods rather than archaic tests on animals and called on the public to support progressive research into human disease.

Explaining her appeal in a post on Facebook, the blonde bombshell can be seen holding a sign reading, “Stop Animal Testing,” and alleges that: “[In recent] experiments funded by the ALS Association, mice had holes drilled into their skulls, were inflicted with crippling illnesses, and were forced to run on an inclined treadmill until they collapsed from exhaustion. Monkeys had chemicals injected into their brains and backs and were later killed and dissected... Trying to cure human diseases by relying on outdated and ineffective animal experiments isn’t only cruel – it’s a grave disservice to people who desperately need cures.”

Pam points to a list of charities that don’t harm animals, available at HumaneSeal.org.

Meanwhile, as of As of Friday, August 22, the ALS Association has received a whopping $53.3. million in donations compared to $2.2 million during the same time period last year.
